Apstra Operating System™ 2.0
AOS™ is the first and only vendor-agnostic, closed-loop intent-based network (IBN) operating system. It enables autonomous lifecycle operations that reduce network services delivery time, outages and cost by 50-90%.
With release 2.0, AOS allows enterprises and service providers to design, implement and operate modern L3 fabrics while supporting L2 applications using VXLAN. AOS enables networking teams to design, implement, and operate underlay and overlay services as a single integrated system.
AOS provides an intent-based unified interface to design, build, deploy, and operate your network.
Networking Should Be This Easy.
AOS is designed to simplify your network operations. From a single web portal you can design, build, deploy and operate a complex network or a group of networks. Different tools are available for each phase, with the different phases of the lifecycle integrated in a uniform user interface. This means you are always looking at a accurate picture of the network, with realtime state information overlaid on the system topology. Documentation and configurations are constantly up to date, making AOS your single pane of glass for managing large network fabrics.
AOS was developed by some of the world’s experts in networking and distributed systems. It provides an abstraction layer that separates network design and operational tools from the ecosystem of network hardware options. This enables customers to leverage any vendor or hardware platform without having to change the management systems.
AOS is built on top of the industry’s best datastore, which provides massive scaling capabilities and realtime state correlation. This results in a system that can handle the world’s largest networks but can be managed from a web browser.
AOS takes high level business logic from the administrator to create a record of "Intent" which drives the design and operations of the network system.
Intent is translated into the functions and behavior of the network and AOS instantly creates the proper device configurations for all nodes in the system.
AOS includes visual design tools allowing a network architect to specify intent and immediately see the proposed solution for the network topology. All aspects of the system build are assisted by AOS.
AOS provides a tightly integrated overlay and underlay network, allowing operators to manage the physical network and VXLAN overlay directly from the same management system. Fabric requirements for the transport of these networks is automated by AOS and the user creates new networks from a simple web interface.
AOS gathers relevant performance data and operating statistics to ensure that your intent is being met. All of the elements needed to maintain intent are automatically monitored, including updates for moves/adds/changes. For example, adding a new leaf switch to the network causes AOS to immediately monitor physical, logical, network and configuration elements.
Physical and Logical Validation
AOS is constantly checking both physical and logical systems to guarantee service uptime.
System Health Views
Dive into health monitoring views for each network with aggregated alerts and errors in a visual monitor. These visualizations present abstract services so you are not managing hundreds of devices individually. The dashboards assist with quick identification of root cause. Dashboards can be exposed to end users allowing them to see the health of their network services without contacting the helpdesk.
AOS constantly monitors all running network configurations and alerts you if there are any deviations from the intended design.
